New York Giants edge-rusher Abdul Carter was among the 2025 NFL draft prospect who received a prank call during the event.

According to Adam Schefter, Carter received a call when the Jaguars were on the clock with the second-overall pick. The caller pretended to be from the Jacksonville front office and told both Carter and his agent Drew Rosenhaus that the Jaguars were taking the former Penn State star.

According to agent Drew Rosenhaus—who relayed the anecdote to ESPN's Adam Schefter—Carter received a prank phone call Thursday stating that the Jacksonville Jaguars would take him with the second pick of the NFL draft. Carter wound up being picked third; the Jaguars selected Colorado wide receiver and cornerback Travis Hunter after trading up.
