The Philadelphia 76ers needed their young star to step up to the plate on Tuesday when they played host to LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers were riding a 4-game winning streak and the Sixers were once again playing short-handed without their stars.

Maxey scored 43 points for the Sixers, who again played without All-Stars Joel Embiid and Paul George among others.

Davis walked to the locker room with his right hand over his stomach when he left with 2:10 to go in the first quarter. Davis had four points in 10 minutes before he was hurt.
