Punxsutawney Phil made his annual prediction in Pennsylvania, and the groundhog saw a shadow, meaning the United States is set for six more weeks of winter.

Additionally, Wind Advisories have been issued for western and northern New York, with gusts of up to 50 mph expected between Thursday evening and Friday morning. The strong winds could cause downed tree limbs and power outages. Motorists are advised to use caution, slow down, and allow extra travel time, according to the Weather Service.

On Thursday at 1:53 a.m. the National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory valid from 4 p.m. until Friday 4 p.m. for Oregon Lower Treasure Valley as well as Harney, Baker and Malheur counties.
