Today is the first day of Real ID enforcement at airports across the U.S. Here's what travelers have to know before taking to the skies.

Real ID enforcement began on Wednesday. One place you will need the new identification card is at the airport, and all signs at Pittsburgh International pointed to a smooth first day. KDKA-TV's Chilekasi Adele has more.

Real ID officially began at 12:01, meaning if you want to get through an airport security line or into a federal government building, you need and updated ID or passport.
