A teen has been charged in the weekend shooting death of 22-year-old Birmingham man. Jeremy Dewayne Thomas, 18, is charged with capital murder in the slaying Xavier “Zay” Colvert, a mechanical engineering student.

He ran but was taken into custody, according to police. The charge is capital murder because the murder took place during a robbery, police said.
